Greetings-

I am the maintainer of the mysqltoolkit port. Recently, the project
underwent a name change and is now maatkit.
The application has also undergone some updates so I would like to
update the port to the latest version.

While I am sure I am not the first person to ever have this problem,
its a new one for me so I figured I would ping the
list and see what people have to say.

Is this the best way to go about this?

1) Have someone mark mysqltoolkit as DEPRECATED
2) Take my port, rename it to maatkit and make the changes necessary
to the Makefile, etc
3) Submit the port and have it checked in.

However, do I need to provide some sort of migration path for existing
users of mysqltoolkit? Is that even possible?
If so, how do I go about doing it.

Any advice or guidance is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
