I have patches to the ACPI DSDT tables of my HP Envy and to the radeonkms driver to control brightness via the Fn+Brightness keys. You're using a different GPU, so the KMS bit would be different (probably unnecessary). Try loading acpi_video(4) and seeing if the brightness keys work. I can help you with ACPI bit. https://wiki.freebsd.org/Laptops/HP_Envy_6Z-1100 Anthony Jenkins ________________________________ From: Graham Perrin <grahamperrin@gmail.com> To: freebsd-x11@freebsd.org Sent: Wednesday, December 16, 2015 2:32 AM Subject: uncontrollable brightness with PC-BSD 11.0-CURRENT HP EliteBook 850 G2; IntelCorei7-5500U with Intel HD Graphics 5500. >From <https://forums.pcbsd.org/thread-20149-post-112331.html#pid112331> for 11.0-CURRENTNOV2015: > neither soft nor hard control of brightness (the soft control is > present but ineffective) >From <https://forums.pcbsd.org/thread-20149-post-112463.html#pid112463> for 11.0-CURRENTDEC2015: > as before, brightness is uncontrollable. _______________________________________________ freebsd-x11@freebsd.org mailing list https://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-x11 To unsubscribe, send any mail to "freebsd-x11-unsubscribe@freebsd.org"
