I removed a couple of those checks, and it gets father, but now I get:

I am running 5.3, I don't know if that is messing things up, or if I
need to modify the Makefile more to get it to work.
I have a...
/usr/ports/lang/ghc/work/ghc-6.6.1
...but not a...
/usr/ports/lang/ghc/work/ghc-6.6.1-boot
...as the Makefile seems to want.
