I have an Intel 82801AB (ICH0) AC'97 Audio Controller (onboard audio on the
i810 motherboard). I have tried nearly every suggestion in these archives
that I have been able to find, but can not get sound.
PERTINENT OUTPUT FROM DMESG:
pci0: <unknown card> (vendor=0x8086, dev=0x2423) at 31.3 irq 9
chip1: <Intel 82801AB (ICH0) AC'97 Audio Controller> port
0x1300-0x133f,0x1200-0x12ff irq 9 at device 31.5 on pci0
UNSUCCESSFUL FIXES:
kernel entries:
device pcm
device csa
device pcm0 at isa? irq 9 drq 1 flags 0x0
loaded ich.c driver
recompiled kernel
sh MAKEDEV snd0
etc ...
Nothing works. As a related side note I get the dreaded "chmod a+rw
/dev/mixer*" error when I try to open kmix.
Has anyone ever been able to successfully get their Intel 82801AB (ICH0)
AC'97 Audio Controller working with FreeBSD 4.3-STABLE??
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Steve
