Thank you Boris. I just discovered that there's an AMPL version for FreeBSD (who says FreeBSD doesn't get support ?) that works with lp_solve, so I'll be using that (lp_solve is in the ports tree). http://www.ampl.com/DOWNLOADS/details.html#Unix I mention this for other people that might want to search operations research software that works on FreeBSD.
