I've just got an HP (Colorado) T4000s tape drive working under FreeBSD 2.1.0. It's a SCSI QIC-3095 drive, 4GB uncompressed. The main change required is that the PF bit in mode select must be set to one. Is a "quirk" the right way to do this? I haven't yet looked at the -current code to see how the SCSI code has changed since 2.1.0. The other changes are to increase SCSI_2_MAX_DENSITY_CODE from 0x17 (not essential, since you can't change the density of this drive) and add a SCSI_SILENT flag to the scsi_prevent call in st_mount_tape(). -- Richard
