Hi, I have a FreeBSD 4.10-RELEASE-p2 system which I have installed portupgrade--20040701_3, ruby-1.8.2.p2_1, and ruby18-bdb1-0.2.2. Previously upgrading ports were effortless with portupgrade. Today, I first CVSUP'ed the ports tree, read /usr/ports/CHANGES and ran `make index`. Then I tried to upgrade various ports and it all failed with portupgrade seg-faulting. For example: [188] [13:15]lou% sudo portupgrade tiff [Failed `Inappropriate file type or format'] [Updating the portsdb <format:bdb1_btree> in /usr/ports ... - 11959 port entries found .........1000.........2000.........3000.........4000.........5000....... ./usr/local/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.8/portsdb.rb:587: [BUG] Segmentation fault ruby 1.8.2 (2004-07-29) [i386-freebsd4] Abort (core dumped) I'm at a loss at why portupgrade is seg faulting. Any ideas about how to fix this would be greatly appreciated. Michael p.s. I'm not subscribed to this list so please cc me on any reply.
