Here is my configuration: 486DX/50 Adaptec 2740T Disk Controller Channel B: 5 SCSI Disks (sd0-sd4) and One NEC 3xi CDROM (cd0) Channel A: One Plextor 4x Internal (cd1) Using cd0 is fine (whether it is the 3xi or the 4Plex), using cd1 as follows: (insert FreeBSD 2.0 CD in drive) mount -r -t cd9660 /dev/cd1a /cdrom1 cp /cdrom1/packages/netpbm.tgz ~ might work the first time, but only about 5% of the time always on the second try, causes the following panic: Fatal Trap 12: page fault while in kernel mode Fault virtual address = 0x22b fault code = supervisor read, page not present instruction pointer = 0x8:0xf01218c4 code segment = base 0x0,limit 0xfffff, type 0x1b = DPL 0. pres 1, def32 1, gran 1 processor eflags = interrupt enabled, resume, IOPL=0 current process = 143 (cp) interrupt mask = bio panic: page fault Did a dump, here is a stack trace from kgdb...
