Hi, I was wondering if somebody could answer a few questions on CD-ROM drives. I have a Matshushita/Panasonic CR-581 4xspeed CD-ROM. In the installation manuals, these CD-ROMs are said to not be supported. However, my CD-ROM is installed in my system as an IDE CD-ROM and is connected through my IDE interface. I was wondering if this CD-ROM might be compatible then with FreeBSD's IDE/ATAPI CD-ROM drivers. If so, how would I mount it if I compile a new kernel with controller wcd0 options "ATAPI" etc Do you think this is fruitless? Thank you, JM
