Hi, I am attempting to install FreeBSD 2.1 from a CD-ROM distribution to a Compaq Prolinea 5100, with an Adaptec 2940 PCI-SCSI adapter. The boot floppy diskette for installing FreeBSD loads the Kernel, but it does not scan the PCI bus for devices, and therefore it does not find any of the PCI cards, i.e. the SCSI adapter, and the video card. The PCI Bus Master is enabled - in the Compaq CMOS/BIOS configuration. I attempted to define manually the IRQ, and Port address (after a boot -c) , based on information collected from the CMOS/BIOS configuration, but that didn't help. I need some help to make progress. Thanks, Varsator
