Hi,
I'm having a hard time trying to get printing to work on a
FreeBSD machine running 2.0.950412-SNAP. I have the lpt0 device
setup in the printcap file as follows:
lp|ps|postscript:\
:lp=/dev/lpt0:sd=/var/spool/lpd:lf=/var/log/lpd-errs:
BTW, I printing to a NEC Silentwriter2 model 90 postscript printer.
The queueing process works fine and sends the postscript file to
the printer to be printed. Even the LCD display on the printer
indicates it is processing the file; but after a while it flashes
the word "resetting" on the display and nothing gets printed.
The funny thing is that I can redirect the postscript file directly
to /dev/lpt0 and it prints out fine. Furthermore, I tried this
on a serial port "ttyd7" and the same thing happens.
If you have any suggestions on solving this problem, please respond
to jhui@ris.ca. Thanks in advance.
