With the disclaimer that it=E2=80=99s been ~15 years since I last looked =
at the relevant tech, but I think you=E2=80=99re confusing PPP over ATM (=
PPPoA) with PPP over Ethernet (PPPoE).

VPI/VCI are ATM concepts, and do not exist in Ethernet land.
