Not sure if any of the ftp mirrors participate in torrent seeding?

If the project could post the torrents via ftp, that would give any
torrent seed 'mirrors' time to copy the release and load and hash
check the data... before enabling the hashes on the tracker and
making the release announcement.

This ancient directory, or at least the data in it, should be
deleted: /pub/FreeBSD/torrents . And I'd put the new torrents in
the same dir as the iso's themselves.

Creating the torrent in make release as a new 'torrent' target,
would not be an unreasonable function. It would need one new
binary/script to perform, as does iso creation with cdrtools.
