Now I know why my aliases beyond alias0 never worked (because of the netmask), but I wanted to ask the question: Why does the netmask have to be all 1's (i.e. 255.255.255.255) for additional addresses when those addresses would not otherwise be entered that way? I am asking because I don't understand what makes the alias different than the single IP...
