With the current virtualbox (4.3.16), attaching any USB device causes virtualbox to crash or hang, sometimes with the following message: Failed to attach the USB device [DeviceName] to the virtual machine [vm name]. Failed to create a proxy device for the USB device. (Error: VERR_READ_ERROR). Result Code: NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005) Component: Console Interface: IConsole {8ab7c520-2442-4b66-8d74-4ff1e195d2b6} This error has been reported by pwr2srv at https://forums.freebsd.org/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=48134&p=269117#p269117 The same thing happens even with a fresh, blank VM. Downgrading, either by installing the package, or by pulling the old revision of the ports tree and building that, fixes the problem.
