As I've got a few VMs that (say) act as a VPN sever, I want OSPF and OSPF6 to pick up from the bridge that serves the VMs. Both OSPF and OSPF6 work fine on the physical lan interfaces (in fact, on vlan interfaces that attach to regular lan interfaces). I'm also familiar with the rules for OSPF[6] matching the configuration, network and network length. But having configured the VM and the host OSPF --- which works fine and OSPF6 ... which doesn't, I think dumped traffic on the bridge. no OSPF6 packets on the bridge. IPV6 pings work.
