Doug, The BearSSL is for SecureBoot https://www.bsdcan.org/2019/schedule/track/Security/1070.en.html It is not built by default and is a tool for creating a SecureBoot implementation. More background: https://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-arch/2017-August/018317.html So I believe both will be included in our base system. Only OpenSSL builds as default. LibreSSL being a competitor for OpenSSL.
