Some cryptocurrencies have feature that a transaction
does not occur until M out of N sign off with crypto.
Good version control systems should begin to
offer that as a feature that repos can enable.
Doesn't mean the tx is any good, but does
make it go through a given set of reviews.

Unfortunately FreeBSD still does not
accept any donations via cryptocurrency.
Nor has FreeBSD community yet participated in any
crypto crowd funded code dev/bug/doc etc bounties.
The world is moving there, others are already making
good use of them, best get on that, have fun :)
