Hello. I think that's right for perl@ to hold lang/perl*, but you just need to follow two simple rules to not shoot yourself heel. 1. Upgrade should pass test build (via exp-run). 2. Ask at least two members of perl@ to check patch (review). These will allow to share responsibility :-) Update, about which bapt@ was a talking above. I'm planing to migrate from x.y.z versions to x.y. This will allow to move away from perl-after-uprade. Also I'm thinking about better intergration of perl and pkgng in future. So if you want to help or discuss please join us at #bsdperl@irc.perl.org On Mon, Apr 22, 2013 at 4:45 PM, Baptiste Daroussin <bapt@freebsd.org>wrote: > Hi all, > > Since skv@ commit bit has been taken for safe keeping I reassigned the > lang/perl5* to perl@. > > Please be cautious if you are planning to work on it, as touching it can > hardly > inpact the ports tree. > > please do not modify it without requesting an exp-run from portmgr. > > Please also notice that az@ has also a lot of ongoing work that should > hit those > ports soon, so keep in touch with him before any modification. > > regards, > Bapt >
