Hi Hans

Thanks for the tip.. However I'm not sure what to do with it.. My
configuration seems different.

The hda code talks about model and codecs, how does that match to chip and
card ids?

For example, we have:
#define HDA_INTEL_MACBOOKPRO92    HDA_MODEL_CONSTRUCT(INTEL, 0x7270)
and
#define HDA_INTEL_HSW3        HDA_MODEL_CONSTRUCT(INTEL, 0x0d0c)

Both match depending if you look at card or chip..

hdac0@pci0:0:3:0:    class=0x040300 card=0x012e106b chip=0x0d0c8086
rev=0x08 hdr=0x00
    vendor     = 'Intel Corporation'
    device = 'Crystal Well HD Audio Controller'
    class      = multimedia
    subclass   = HDA
hdac1@pci0:0:27:0:    class=0x040300 card=0x72708086 chip=0x8c208086
rev=0x05 hdr=0x00
    vendor     = 'Intel Corporation'
    device = '8 Series/C220 Series Chipset High Definition Audio
Controller'
    class      = multimedia
    subclass   = HDA
