You probably want to change the hw.snd.default_unit # sysctl hw.snd.default_unit= {the number of your audio device} (as root) You may have to restart Firefox. Or, if you use pulseaudio you can do this without restarting Firefox. # pulseaudio -k (as regular user, not root) % cat /dev/sndstat Installed devices: pcm0: <NVIDIA (0x0041) (HDMI/DP 8ch)> (play) pcm1: <NVIDIA (0x0041) (HDMI/DP 8ch)> (play) pcm2: <Realtek ALC292 (Analog 2.0+HP/2.0)> (play/rec) pcm3: <Realtek ALC292 (Analog)> (play/rec) pcm4: <USB audio> (play/rec) default pcm5: <USB audio> (play/rec) I always have to set mine to 4 after a reboot. It's possible to make it stay that way, but it's a USB audio device that i sometimes don't plug in. So I just do it manually. -- Waitman Gobble
