I have been trying to figure this out and think if you install the old xorg
with packages it won't work. You have to build from ports to get kms and
the new xorg or chrome will be missing features. I have haven't had a
chance to try it, and it will be slow as I'm on a slow laptop. Anyone have
a fast machine and can test this idea?

The other idea is to rebuild chromium to use the system ffmpeg libs.
Building that takes me up to 4 hours.
