Thanks, but -I has the same issue as -V. -P went away and  I killed it
after 2 minutes.

I think "pkg version" lacks any understanding of the format using the
OSVERSION as a part of the version number. Does not look like it would be
hard to fix, but I have not looked at the code and don't have time to do so
right now.
