Hello, Last night I installed v2.2.1 from ftp.freebsd.org and everything went really smoothly. The problem is that I have to tell FBSD where to go when it tries to boot or it panics when trying to mount root. Here is my setup: Adaptec 2940UW IBM 2gig SCSI-2 HD, ID 0 (Device 81h) sd0s1 450m FAT (BANDIA_WORK) sd0s2e 200m UFS /var sd0s2f 1.4g UFS /usr Quantum 1gig SCSI-2 (Wide?), ID 12 (Boot Device 80h) sd1s1 450m FAT (BANDIA_BOOT) DOS v6.22 and NT v4 sd2s2b 469m swap swap sd1s2a 150m UFS / When it boots (Either when I use fdisk to make the partition active or using the NTv4 boot manager) it finds the boot, starts and boots from: 0:sd(0,a)/kernel It works fine until it tries to mount root, then it panics. If I use the boot option to specify where to boot from and change it to: 0:sd(1,a)/kernel Evrything works fine, I have tried to make the kernel with sd0 and sd1 and I still have this problem. What can I do? -Sean ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Sean J.
