Wow! your message was educational and refreshing. somebody actualy knows! i will keep it for reference. as to your requests: since from all my experiments i've poluted too many file systems, i will start from scratch and send you a full report asap. basicaly, if i understand your explanation, i will always have problems with mknod and v2/v3. so i see only one solution: only use v3 for nfs-root clients, correct?
