I cant make pass4 with MAKEDEV either - plus I note that in the MAKEDEV scrip then 'all' explicitly does 'sh MAKEDEV pass4 xpt2' using mknod by hand seems to work - but I cant see why MAKEDEV wont do it. -pcf.
