Since I've obviously overlooked the mergemaster step if I run it now will there be an adverse effects on my sys? I've gone through the man page and read through the UPDATE file and it appears to me that this is run AFTER the build/installworld. Is this correct, or, after running the mergemaster do I need to do that again. That file contains directions for 4.x->4.STABLE as well as 3.x->4.x. And by all means, run mergemaster(8).
