Maybe, but there's been a major restructuring of the source tree, most of the stuff has been moved to /usr/src/contrib. Maybe this confused the make system. I've just checked my /usr/obj/usr/src/gnu/usr.bin/gdb/gdb/.depend file inside the chroot tree used for my release tests.
