Sort of a FreeBSD-ish question (in an indirect way)... which flavours of UNIX have rpc.lockd, or other method for placing an advisory lock on a file over NFS? I know SunOS, Solaris and IRIX do, but BSD/OS and FreeBSD do not. AIX? OSF/1? HP-UX? -- Brian Tao <taob@io.org> System Administrator, Internex Online Inc.
