Is there some real good reason to keep the huge number of superblock
backups that exists when formatting very large disks?

a) It takes forever
b) How many people have actually had to use the 390th copy of the
superblock to fix their disks into a usable form?

Seems like a nice round 16 or so copies would be sufficient. Or at least
the option to specify fewer.
