I'm sure there are plenty of other ISPs running lots of VWS on a single machine. Even when I exhaust the current class C net, I won't be putting in a new machine for the next lot, I'll just have 508 aliases instead of 254. I certainly don't fancy a line network_aliases_lo0="{insert many lines of IP addresses here} " in /etc/sysconfig. How about a scheme whereby the aliases are read from /etc/ip.aliases.lo0 Danny
