I think we may have  a fix for this...
it's possibly due to the softupdate code trying to grab all the  possible
kernel vm for dependency tracking.

there's also a possible vm  problem even without soft-updates
as john has mentionned, and of course there;s something wrong with CCD
arrays..

these will be addressed as we go.. It's great having all the feedback!
