I think the risk to the end user if a registrar goes bankrupt is pretty
minimal, about zero if you do your own DNS. But in any case their only
asset is their customer base so I think surviving registrars would be
lining up to purchase the assets. 

The registrar agreement seems silent on what happens to the end users but
if yourdomain.tld has been added to the root name servers and you have
paid your fees, there is little reason (or incentive??) to remove it.

I personally think using the registrar of your choice is pretty low risk.
That said I do have customer that prefer NSI assuming they will never go
out of business.

An issue in this reguard is what happens to the "glue" records maintained
by a defunct registrar. I would like to hear thoughts on that.
