This is a pretty busy list; I get about 100 messages a day, more or less. In a previous post, you had mentioned that > I need gateway + firewall + www server + mail + LAN server with 2 > ethernet connections. I have had this very configuration running for quite some time. It's even under 3.3, which you had originally mentioned. (Why 3.3? because that was the latest-n-greatest when the machine was last booted. :^) I'd be happy to send you any config files you might need. BTW, I am *not* a professional unix geek, just an EE who has programmed a microcontroller or two back in the day. Let's not talk about IBM 360s and 370s :^) > One more thing about my quest for the perfect gateway + firewall + www > server + mail + LAN server: GallantWEB has browser configurability -- > that is, you create accounts and even apply patches through the > browser's (http) interface. Does plain-vanilla FBSD have such a > facility? There is a thing called WebMin which I *think* has this functionality; never used it myself. It's not included in the plain-vanilla distribution, but it's in the ports collection. [Side note: the ports collection really *is* the greatest thing since sliced bread. If you wanted to install webmin, for example, it's a three-step process: 1) cd /usr/ports/sysutils/webmin 2) make install 3) have lunch, and then it will be done.] Finally, let me add my belated welcome to the chorus. -- Chris Hill chris@monochrome.org ** [ Busy Expunging <|> ] To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
