Dear All, I am having a little problem on putting an etinc ET5025PQ syncronous adapter to work, connected to a Cisco 2500 series router. I can put the link and line protocol UP on both sides, with PPP or HDLC. By the debug i could check that everything at connection level is working, as i receive keepalives, Packets, etc. After running ifconfig to set the remote and local addresses and adding a default route the outside IP 192.168.1.54. Our port local IP is 192.168.1.54 . I could check by the debugs that the ICMP packets ate leaving here and returning to here with no problem ( see debug below ). The problem is that the received packets are not being sent to the IP layer and to the remote machine. I think now my problem is that the ip packets received from the interface are not being routed to the network. Running l2stats i could check that bytes were sent and received, and ifhdlc was reporting link up, PPP up, etc. Do i need to switch anything special on 2.2.6 kernel? May i have problems because of 192.168 addresses or they should work with no problem? Any tips are welcome. I sent a ping from 200.238.120.7 to 200.133.0.40 Notice the last line: PPP RX/0 IP 00 21 45 00 00 c3 3f 4f 40 00 3d 06 f4 19 c8 85 00 24 c8 ee 200.238.120.7 = 0xC8.0xEE.0x78.0x7 200.133.0.40 = 0xC8.0x85.0x00.0x24 I think i am receiving ping replies by serial line. Do i need any special settings on the kernel? ( i have gateway enabled on the rc.conf ). tupolev{luiz}:/usr/hdlc/utils:32$ ifconfig -a eth0: flags=51<UP,POINTOPOINT,RUNNING> mtu 1500 inet 192.168.1.53 --> 192.168.1.54 netmask 0xfffffffc Routing tables Internet: Destination Gateway Flags Refs Use Netif Expire default 192.168.1.54 UGSc 1 61 eth0 127.0.0.1 127.0.0.1 UH 0 0 lo0 192.168.1.54 192.168.1.53 UH 1 0 eth0 200.238.120 link#7 UC 0 0 200.238.120.1 0:20:35:93:12:78 UHLW 0 549 ed0 1196 200.238.120.2 0:0:e8:1:3:fc UHLW 1 205 ed0 1132 200.238.120.3 0:40:5:23:3a:4e UHLW 0 151 ed0 1195 200.238.120.5 0:40:c7:29:53:17 UHLW 0 34 ed0 1193 200.238.120.7 0:80:ad:1f:ac:b7 UHLW 1 1015 ed0 1154 200.238.120.9 0:40:5:60:10:c4 UHLW 0 1132 200.238.120.13 0:40:5:23:3a:4e UHLW 0 2 ed0 536 200.238.120.34 0:0:e8:1:3:fc UHLW 0 3 ed0 980 200.238.120.36 0:0:e8:1:3:fc UHLW 0 1 ed0 667 200.238.120.52 0:0:e8:1:3:fc UHLW 0 3 ed0 574 200.238.120.54 0:0:e8:1:3:fc UHLW 0 9 ed0 548 200.238.120.59 0:0:e8:1:3:fc UHLW 0 4 ed0 534 200.238.120.73 0:0:e8:1:3:fc UHLW 0 3 ed0 557 200.238.120.74 0:0:e8:1:3:fc UHLW 0 3 ed0 565 200.238.120.75 0:0:e8:1:3:fc UHLW 0 3 ed0 545 tupolev{luiz}:/usr/hdlc/utils:34$ my ppp0.pci.cfg tupolev{luiz}:/usr/hdlc/utils:35$ more ppp0.pci.cfg ; level 2 configuration ET5025PQ ;Board Definition 0 ;Board Number 0 ;Port Number 0x44 ;Base Protocol (0x44 = PPP) ; Transparent mode setup (See MK5025 Specification) 5000 ; T1 5000 ; T3 1604 ; N1 1 ; FCS (1 = 16bit 0 = 32bit) 0 ; DACE - Control/Address Extraction (1 = Disable) 0 ; PROM - Address Filtering (1 = Disable) 1 ; EXTA - Extended Address HDLC rules (1 = Enable) 1 ; EXTAF - Extended Address Force (1 = Enable) 1 ; EXTC - Extended Control Field S and I-Frames (1 = Enable) 1 ; EXTCF - Extended Control All Frames (1 = Enable) 0 ; DRFCS - Disable receiver FCS checking 0 ; DTFCS - Disable transmission of FCS ; Board Configuration 0 ;ignore modem control signals (1 = ignore CD and DSR) 20 ;board clock rate (20 or 25Mhz) 0 ;cpu clock rate (0 = Half CPU, 1 = Full CPU) 256000 ;baud rate (0 = External) ; LAPB controller setup 2 ; minimum flags between frames (1,2,4 or 6) 16 ; dma burst (2,16 or 64) 4 ; Hardware Tx buffers 8 ; Hardware Rx buffers 1 ; tx interrupt enable (0 = disabled) Apr 3 11:59:28 tupolev /kernel: PPP RX/0 IP 00 21 45 10 02 40 7d a7 40 00 3 3 06 b2 df cf fa 04 02 c8 ee Apr 3 11:59:30 tupolev /kernel: PPP RX/0 IP 00 21 45 00 00 40 5f 07 40 00 7 6 06 d6 4c 8f 6b ff 06 c8 ee Apr 3 11:59:30 tupolev /kernel: PPP RX/0 LCP c0 21 09 19 00 0c 05 38 a1 97 0 0 00 00 00 Apr 3 11:59:30 tupolev /kernel: PPP/0 Event:LCP RCV ECHO New State:CP_OPENE D Apr 3 11:59:30 tupolev /kernel: PPP/0 LCP SND ECHO REPLY seq:25 Apr 3 11:59:30 tupolev /kernel: PPP TX/0 LCP ff 03 c0 21 0a 19 00 0c d4 fc b f ef 00 00 00 00 Apr 3 11:59:31 tupolev /kernel: PPP RX/0 IP 00 21 45 00 00 3c 79 fe 40 00 2 c 06 9f f6 c0 29 33 ad c8 ee Apr 3 11:59:32 tupolev /kernel: PPP RX/0 IP 00 21 45 00 00 3a 48 2b 40 00 e d 11 33 5f d1 35 00 01 c8 ee Apr 3 11:59:32 tupolev /kernel: PPP RX/0 IP 00 21 45 00 00 2c 62 3a 40 00 7 9 06 7a b9 a6 48 3d 9e c8 ee Apr 3 11:59:32 tupolev /kernel: PPP RX/0 IP 00 21 45 00 00 c3 3f 4f 40 00 3d 06 f4 19 c8 85 00 24 c8 ee upolev{luiz}:/usr/hdlc/utils:36$ ./l2stats eth0 ET/HDLC Statistics Line:0 ---------------------------------- Fcs Errors: 0 Short Frames: 0 T1_timeouts: 2 RNR States: 0 Rx Rejects: 0 Tx Rejects: 0 Rx Overruns: 0 Tx Underruns: 0 Link Resets: 0 Tx I-Frames: 105 Tx Bytes: 5882 Rx I-Frames: 285 Rx Bytes: 43261 tupolev{luiz}:/usr/hdlc/utils:37$ To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-isp" in the body of the message
