Hiyall, Thanks to all who offered advice. I did find the cause of the problem. A very old version of perl was sitting in /bin/perl. I'm wondering if the 2.2.6 upgrade put it there? Anyway, deleting it and symlinking to the correct location of perl 5.00404 fixed the problem.
