> What about (down)loading kernel modules from the installation medium? Well, this will always be an issue if you support a long list of h/w. But basically you want to be able to get enough modules to run install. That means base platform, VGA/KBD, Serial Port I/O, UFS && CD9660 && NFS, Mass Storage drivers, and 'simple' Network drivers. There's a lot of stuff in addition to this that does *not* need to be in the install set. The 'installation' medium may just be floppy.
