I have tried configuring the GENERIC kernel, and it results in a long list of syntax errors beginning with this: :/usr/src/sys/i386/conf> /usr/sbin/config GENERIC config: line 20: Unknown machine type config: line 20: syntax error config: line 21: syntax error config: line 22: syntax error config: line 23: syntax error ... ... and the last line is: Specify machine type, e.g. ``machine vax'' The make fails entirely from /usr/src/sys/compile/GENERIC Am I doing something terribly wrong? I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks again, Frederick On Tue, 28 Mar 2000, Doug Barton wrote: > miy wrote: > > > > I am fairly new to freebsd, and I want to keep up to date with > > everything available.
