Funny thing, that.   I keep trying with the cross-cc, but still no
luck.  I'm determined to get it working, but I ask once again, is it
*really* necessary?  I am also of the assumption that the Net- compiler on
a SPARC is sufficient for our needs, but I anxiously await someone's
explanation of why it won't work.
