Hey Everyone! Allright, I am having some problems with FreeBSD. Well, they may not sound like problems, but they sure are inconvieniences and I would like to get them worked out if possible. This is FreeBSD 4.0-RELEASE, I have not cvsupped yet. So, here goes... 1. Does anyone know of a driver for the OPL-SAx Sound system? In my system I have the OPL-SAx Sound Card and it finds that ok.. pcm0: <Yamaha OPL-SAx> stuff about it....... But it also finds... unknown0: <Yamaha OPL3-SA3 Sound System> stuff about it... Anyone ever heard of a driver for this, or some type of kernel module for it? 2. What is up with ZIP drives. I have tried like the dickens to get my system to work with my zip drive. Let me explain. I have an HP Deskjet 610c and a Iomega Zip 100 Parallel port drive. I had a problem in windows that forced me to get a secondary printer port. I have it install and for some reason, BSD only see's my -NEW- printer card, finds it as lpt0. NO matter what it WILL NOT find the onboard parallel port that is installed. This is also where I have my ZIP drive plugged in. The strange thing? AS SOON as a boot from plugging in my zip drive my printer starts jerking around. It now prints out (or tries to) and then hangs. It use to do this when it thought that the ZIP and the printer were on the same port. 3. I use this machine as somewhat of a terminal for users. One big concern they have had is security. They use the command 'exit' to logout and would like some type of way to have the screen cleared after exit. I think this would only be reasonable. I would appreciate your help in these matters as I need to get it resolved as soon as possible. --jwp Justin W.
