ISP UNIX System Administrator
==============================

Looking for EXPERIENCED UNIX System Administrator who has a broad
background in or experience with:

o Email 

  Should have a solid background in setup and administration of a wide
  scale email system and be a fluent sendmail(v8+) administrator.
  Should have a solid understanding of SMTP, POP3, and IMAP.

o DNS

  Should understand the concepts of DNS including SOA records, zone
  transfers, masters/slaves, delegation, TTL, etc.  Experience with
  bind(v8) a plus.

o WWW

  Should understand HTTP and have had expreience running a web 
  server (preferrably apache).  Should know what CGI and PHP is and how to
  set it up.  SSL experience a plus.

o Radius

  Should understand how RADIUS works and what it is used for.


o Filesystems

  Should have had experiecnce with format, mount, and backup of UFS
  filesystems.  Knowledge of disk performance inspection, planning, and
  optimization required.  Understanding of swap and virtual memory
  subsystems required.

o Programs

  Should be compitent in the usage and application of the following
  BSD UNIX commands:  

   tar,cp,mv,dump,restore,dd,top,ps,kill,find,ifconfig,netstat,route,
   arp,ssh,telnet,ftp,pwd,ls,grep,man,awk, and of course, vi

o Security

  Should understand how to secure a UNIX machine.  SHould understand TCP
  wrappers and firewalls.  

o Daemons

  Should understand process handling including signals and sockets.  
  Should know what inetd is and also how to use pipe redirection
  from the shell.

o Networking

  Must be able to configure and change interface addresses via ifconfig
  (NOT through a GUI).  Should have a solid understanding of basic routing
  and be able to troubleshoot network connections/problems.


o Additional Info:

All candidates must be able to work well within a shell, no GUI programs 
to accomplish the above listed items.

BSD UNIX experience preferred although not required.

The candidate MUST be experienced or conceptionally understand ALL of the
above listed items.  MINIMAL TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED.  

Additional experience such as programming in shell, perl, C, C++ or
another administrative language a plus.  Network skills such as Routing
(OSPF and BGP), firewalling (Manual), NIDS, and management a
plus.  Knowledge of Cisco and Livingston equipment a plus.  Database
Management a plus.  Knowledge of Capacity Planning a plus.
