You may have problems with the ViRGE chipsets -- I recall some X problems
with them. I'm not sure they're supported at current.

You might try:
1. Back up /etc
2. Run the boot floppy
3. Do install -> custom -> mount filesystems -> select X components
(ie, do the install procedure, MOUNT your filesystems, and just select X)
