OK, here's what you should be getting for a DGVSO9U:

/dev/sda:
 Timing buffer-cache reads:   64 MB in  0.64 seconds =100.00 MB/sec
 Timing buffered disk reads:  32 MB in  2.00 seconds =16.00 MB/sec

I'm fairly certain that that is about right since going back through the
archives, someone else had produced about the same results (16.16 MB/sec)
with an IBM DGVS09U.
