Hi I'm running free bsd 4.2-RELEASE #0 (uname -a) A few quick questions .... The boot up process goes fine it recognizes the card to problem: dmesg output: xe0 at port 0x240-0x24f iomem 0xd0000-0xd0fff irq 10 slot 0 on pccard0 xe0: Xircom CE3, bonding version 0x45, 100Mbps capable xe0: DingoID = 0x444b, RevisionID = 0x1, VendorID = 0 xe0: Enthernet address 00:80:c7:f2:46:72 xe0: watchdog timeout: resetting card I have modified the pccard.conf in the /etc to look like this: # Xirocm CreditCard Ethernet 10/100 card "Xircom" "CerditCard 10/100" config 0x1 "xe0" 10 insert /etc/pccard_ether $device start remove /etc/pccard_ether $device stop so the card uses IRQ 10. My issue lies within the innability to connect to the internet. :( or even ping anyone from my machine. I used /stand/sysinstall ->configure->networking->interfaces and then xe0 when I add the information about my domain name default gateway etc and the reboot I still can't acess the net or ping any machine This is a clean istall where I have recompiled the kernel. Also after the reboot when the card is probed it shows up on the screen and there is a single beep.....?..... and when I log in the watchdog timeout message appears and it indicates that it is resarting the card. I am accessing the internet though a cable modem from @home.... any help would be appreciated... thank you ____________________________ ICQ 6 4 4 9 0 6 6 2 e-mail: ummacius@NOSPAMcc.umanitoba.ca Remove NOSPAM to reply :) To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-mobile" in the body of the message
