Hi again Joe,

I just noticed that the GLib-2.0.1 port has the same problems that the
GTK+-2.0.2 port had. According to the GTK+ homepage www.gtk.org, GLib-2.0
"is the low-level core library that forms the basis of GTK+-2.0". Since
its developers consider the GTK+-2.0 PACKAGE to be a stable release, they
consider both of its components GTK+-2.0 and GLib-2.0 to be stable (see
www.gtk.org/download).

1. The last paragraph of the GLib-2.0.1 pkg-descr reads the same as
GTK+-2.0.2 used to, e.g.

"Warning: this library is unstable development version, incompatible with
version 1.2, so it could not be used as a replacement for the older one."

Can we change that text to the following (e.g. analogous to the change we
made for GTK+-2.0.2)?

"GLib-2.0 is a stable release that forms the basis of GTK+-2.0. Likewise,
the previous stable release GLib-1.2 forms the basis of GTK+-1.2.

Many applications still require GTK+-1.2. You can have the runtime and
development environments for both GTK+-2.0 (which requires GLib-2.0) and
GTK+-1.2 (which requires GLib-1.2) installed simultaneously on your
computer."

2. The GLib-2.0.1 pkg-descr is mirrored at
www.freebsd.org/cgi/url.cgi?ports/devel/glib20/pkg-descr
Can you make the above change (1) here also if it doesn't happen
automatically?

3. The GLib-2.0.1 pkg-comment reads as follows:
"Some useful routines of C programming (unstable development version)"

The GLib-1.2.10 pkg-comment reads as follows:
"Some useful routines of C programming"

Can we change them to:

new GLib-2.0.1 pkg-comment:
"Some useful routines of C programming (current stable version)"

new GLib-1.2.10 pkg-comment:
"Some useful routines of C programming (previous stable version)"

4. The GLib-2.0.1 and GLib-1.2.10 pkg-comments are mirrored onto the same
page www.freebsd.org/ports/devel.html . Can you make the above changes (3)
here also if they don't happen automatically?

5. The GLib-2.0.1 Makefile contains the following line (about halfway
down):

NO_LATEST_LINK=3D "Unstable, development version."

Should that be changed to "Stable version", or should the entire line be
removed from the Makefile?

Thanks for your patience. I think it's worth the effort to make the ports
accurate and consistent.

Friendly Greetings,
