Dear Sir/Madam I attempted to install FreeBSD from floppy disc (DOS format 1.44) on a 486DX2 system with an AHA-154x SCSI hard disc controller and Conner CEP1060S hard disc. The install goes perfectly until it comes to writing the contents of the first floppy onto the hard disc, whereby I get :- "Write failure on transfer! (wrote -1 bytes of 1024 bytes) Do you have any ideas as to what might be causing the problem? I've even performed a low-level format to remove any vestiges of my linux partitions!
