hi, I've installed freebsd. The time taken was a little longer than I setup rh-linux. However it's not bad. Here's what've done: 1. using partition magic to delete a partition and let freebsd to create its own slices for / and swp in that partition. 2. I've found that boot magic could boot freebsd. However, I found linux could do the job. So, I add several lines in lilo.conf and it works: linux==>freebsd. There are more thing I need After what I will be all ready to go: 1. does freebsd have its howto site? 2. I have ppp installed, how to activate and disactivate it and configure it? 3. my soundcard is cs4236b, is it supported? Do I need to recompile kernel to let it recognized? How? (dumb question, I run gnome playcd software: do cdrom? no xplaycd either.) Thanks for your attention.
