The way I chequed is by having my sound system set up as it works in both Linux and Windows and then attempting to use a sound program (generally mpg321 for testing) and listening for sound. Maybe I'm completely missing something? I just installed FreeBSD again so I'll be ready to try out any suggestions that you may have. Am I disillusioned in thinking that all I should need to do is kldload the drivers and try to play sound? I write a signature to let you know I care.
