Hi everybody, I installed FreeBSD 5.1 from CD on my IBM Thinkpad T22 which works really good. I need to use a Xircom Credit Card Ethernet CEM56-100 with it, mostly because I specially checked with the hardware support list before I actually buy the card. Now I have a problem with it. I searched the whole archive of the freebsd-xircom mailing list and tried to read comments on this device. But the "ifconfig" still doesn't recognize the XE0 as an ethernet interface. The command "pccardc dumpcis" answers with: "0 slots found" The pccard daemon "pccardd" does not run at startup and when I start it manually it says:"pccardd[773]: fatal error: no PC-CARD slots" Surprisingly, each time, I insert the card into the running system I get the following message: xe0: <Xircom CreditCard Ethernet 10/100 + Modem 56> at port 0x2 e8-0x2ef irq 11 function 0 config 39 on pccard0 device_probe_and_attach: xe0 attach returned 19 The modem doesn't work either, eventhough I tried to uncomment the entry in the pccard.conf. Following is my dmesg. Since it might have been unpleasent to look at a long system message, I tried to delete many lines which (I thought) are not related to the topic. The XE is at the end. I would appreciate any comments on this.
