Try this: At the same time as doing a: dd if=/dev/zero of=ick bs=8192 count=1024 to an NFS mounted directory in one xterm do an: ls from within the same NFS mounted directory in another xterm. What happens is the ls hangs until the dd finishes. I don't think this the correct behavior and it certainly is not the behavior I saw under 2.1.0R. Anybody have a clue here? Otherwise, -current is shaping up nicely -- it's squeezing another 15% speed-up out my Monte Carlo simulator (which, BTW, uses my own, portable 48 bit generator adapted from Knuth, and which can run in parallel on SMP etc...).
